The Best Espresso Martini Recipe – Tried, Tested and Perfected

Espresso Martini

The ultimate Espresso Martini

For years, my best friend Simon and I have been on a mission: to find the ultimate espresso martini recipe. We’ve tried dozens, adjusted countless ratios, and debated every detail. We think we’ve finally cracked it. This version is smooth, balanced, and gives that perfect creamy top every time.

What You’ll Need:

  • 2 shots (50ml) vodka – we use Absolut

  • 1 shot (25ml) freshly brewed espresso – we recommend Latin Blend or Espresso No.1

  • ½ shot (12.5ml) coffee liqueur – Kahlúa works perfectly

  • ½ shot (12.5ml) simple syrup – adjust to taste if you prefer it sweeter

  • 5 to 7 ice cubes, depending on your shaker size

Method:

  1. Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker.

  2. Shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is frosty and you can no longer hear the ice rattling. This means it’s perfectly chilled and diluted.

  3. Strain into a chilled martini or coupe glass using a fine mesh strainer. This helps create that classic frothy top.

  4. Garnish with three coffee beans and serve.

Rich, smooth, and just the right amount of indulgent. This is our go-to espresso martini, and we hope it becomes yours too.

Latin Blend
from £8.50

A coffee with warmth, depth, and just the right amount of sweetness. Latin Blend brings together two carefully sourced speciality Arabica beans—one from Cerrado Minas Gerais in Brazil, the other from the volcanic valleys of Guatemala. The result? A beautifully balanced coffee with chocolatey, nutty notes and a rich, smooth finish.

This blend is silky and mellow, with a soft acidity that lets its natural sweetness shine. Expect flavours of maple syrup and toasted pecan in an espresso, while milk transforms it into a creamy, chocolatey delight with hints of toffee. A perfect all-rounder, whether you prefer it black or with milk.
