Limited Edition: Pacamara, Santa Ana, El Salvador
Our latest release comes from Cafenor, a carbon-neutral mill in northern El Salvador run by the Valiente family, whose roots in coffee trace back to 1890. Led by Alejandro and his daughters, Cafenor supports over 60 nearby smallholders with sustainable processing, training, and shared resources.
This lot is a blend of Pacamara—an unusually large bean and characterful varietal—grown on small farms and carefully selected for flavour. Dried on raised beds and powered entirely by solar and geothermal energy, this is coffee with real integrity.

Fair Trade has done a huge amount of good in the world—but we think it doesn’t always go far enough for the smallholders growing truly exceptional coffee. That’s where direct trade comes in. We work with importers who have deep, ongoing relationships with farming communities. They’re on the ground, helping build better practices, supporting local development, and ensuring farmers are paid fairly—often well above Fair Trade minimums. It’s a hands-on, people-first approach that’s helping communities thrive.
-
We work with importers who partner closely with farmers—not just to buy coffee, but to help build better futures. That means sharing knowledge, supporting sustainable farming, and managing vital resources like water responsibly. Many of them also work with charities and local organisations to strengthen family farms, improve quality of life, and encourage environmentally sound practices. Together, we support coffee that’s not just better for your cup—but better for the people growing it.
-
Yes, always. We only use 100% Arabica beans, grown at higher altitudes for a reason—they produce more complex, delicate flavours. Arabica is harder to grow and more labour-intensive to harvest, but it’s worth it. No robusta, no shortcuts. Just beautifully grown coffee from producers who care as much as we do about flavour and quality.
-
Because big flavour often comes from small farms. We choose to work with independent growers and community-based projects, not large industrial operations. These producers are passionate, often working in remote areas where farming supports education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability. We roast their beans in small batches to keep the coffee fresh and the quality high—because when coffee is made with care, it shows in every sip.
